Measles
The Measles vaccine is available from £45 per dose. This vaccine 2 doses to offer full protection.
Measles, Mumps and Rubella are viral infections which present as flu like symptoms and rashes. Though usually mild, they can lead to serious and life-threatening illnesses such as meningitis and pneumonia. The vaccine is recommended if you have not had the MMR vaccine as a child, or if you are at risk due to work or international travel.
The vaccine is given as an intramuscular injection into the muscle of the upper arm
A course requires 2 doses to provide full protection given at least one month apart. Protection is lifelong following a full course of the vaccine and boosters are usually not required.
Following vaccination, you may experience a sore, achy or heavy arm due to the injection. There can also be some pain, soreness, redness or bruising at the injection site. Other side-effects include flu like symptoms, drowsiness, temperature, aches and pains, headaches, dizziness and nausea.

There is a very small chance that some people can be allergic to the vaccine and cause anaphylaxis. This is extremely rare and the risk of this is no different to an allergy to any other medication. Our vaccinators always check to make sure you are not at risk of any allergies prior to the vaccine and are prepared to manage allergies if needed.
